With it's heightened picture quality and improved sound it becomes startlingly apparent that Tom Cruise looks frighteningly similar today as he did in 1986. More startling however is just how many of the supporting cast have become stars in their own rights. Val Kilmer has obviously gone on to bigger (not necessarily greater) things and Meg Ryan makes an early appearance as do Tim Robins and ER's Anthony Edwards. However this is Cruise's show and with Kelly McGillis in tow this remains a slick stylish slice of low-level thrills. ...
