Axl is in his most swaggering belligerent form as they storm through favourites such as Welcome To The Jungle and My Michelle and the live arena gives Slash the chance to really let loose some stunning guitar work from the ear-melting on Mr. Brownstone and Rocket Queen to the heart-melting on Estranged and November Rain. Thanks to the power and drive the old G 'N' R delivered on stage very little post-production work has been needed leaving the recordings pretty much the way they were heard at the time. As a result this is rock the way it ought to be heard - raw infectious and full of energy. It's hard to avoid feeling a thrill as you hear those first few notes of Knockin' On Heaven's Door even now. For the completists the band's previously unreleased treatment of Black Sabbath's It's Alright is included but frankly there is more than enough here to justify this live release even without it. ...
